I used these straps, and they worked great for securing longboards on the side of our van. The buckle needs to be pulled in tight to get the locking mechanism to work. Nobody stole our boards so I guess it worked however if someone really wanted your boards, they could find a way to cut the cable in the straps. Great straps that get the job done on securing boards on top of your vehicle.
